History Of Guns - plans for 2009 [Jan. 12th, 2009|11:41 am]

History Of Guns will be playing one final gig with the full 5-piece band... on 21st February 2009 at ELECTROPUNK (Esquires, Bedford).

Details: (£5 on the door, support from Talluah Flame Gothic Belly Dancers, System:fx, S.W.A.N.K. & The Adenoids. 8pm - Midnight then entry to Alternative Club til 2am.)

It will be recorded for possible dvd release. We'll be playing some stuff we've never played before. Please come. (we'll be finding a cheap hotel for that night, let me know if you're interested which one)

There *may* be a couple of electronica gigs between March and June... i.e. two or three man line-up with drum machines. I'll let you know if anything ever becomes definite.

Then History Of Guns will retire from live performance for the forseeable future (and maybe beyond).

An album, 'Whatever You Do, Don't Turn Up At Twelve' is scheduled for release later this year. Provisional tracklisting:

1. Kicking Down The Doors
2. ICE
3. Glam Goth Disco
4. Closing Down This Reality
5. Leaving You
6. The Worst Let-Down Of Them All
7. Can't
8. These Songs
9. Bromide
10. Cuts & Bruises

After that there'll be *at least* a few years until the next one... (maybe much more), to be called 'HALF LIGHT'...

too many reasons to go into here really...

but essentially we had a lot dates i'd planned for this year fall through, and i realised i'd rather use my time and energy for new material and projects rather maintaining and rehearsing the full band, and dealing with venues, promoters, logistics etc!

That's not to say we won't play live again, but we're happy to wait for the right things to come to us...

I've just had a huge gas bill scupper my plans for, well pretty much anything really :(
I really wanted to go this and now I am not even sure I can get to the other thing I wanted to do :(
